Why we built
Stronghold
We built Stronghold after a years-long, painful goodbye as dementia slowly took hold of my grandmother.
Along the way, my mother had to become not just a daughter, but a caretaker, decision-maker, and record-keeper.
There were so many small but critical details: Where was the power of attorney? Who was the solicitor? What medications had changed recently? What bank accounts were still open?
None of it was in one place. My mother did her best - piecing together information from old files, phone calls, and scattered notes. She carried the weight quietly, but I could see how hard it was. Every question she didn’t know the answer to made a difficult situation even more overwhelming.
That experience stayed with me. Years later, I realised that this wasn’t just a story about dementia. It was about all of us - about how fragile our systems are when life changes and how unprepared most families are for an emergency.
That’s why we built Stronghold, a secure, digital vault designed specifically for the essential details of life to keep them organised, easy to find, and ready to share with the people you trust.
What started as something I wished my mother had, quickly became something I knew I needed - for my spouse, my kids, and anyone who might have to make decisions on my behalf someday.
Stronghold is about peace of mind for the people you love in life’s unexpected moments. It’s a way to care for them, even when you’re not there to explain everything yourself.
